Summit a special day for remarkable women veterans

Sponsors of the Women Veterans & Military Service Members Summit take the stage on June 12, 2026, in Building 4 at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. It was the first summit organized by Warrioress League 209. Women told their stories of struggles and ultimate empowerment to an audience that alternately cheered and wiped away tears.

The summit began with the singing of our National Anthem.
Breakout sessions included yoga, creative writing, gardening, financial planning and the Veterans Service Office provided assistance.
The proceedings were blessed by an indigenous American ceremony.

San Joaquin County women veterans form a connection through the bond of shared experiences while serving our country. Some guest speakers talk about available programs and benefits. One woman veteran will often share her story of perseverance in the many challenges she faced.

Let Debbie Gifford, U.S. Army veteran and retired English teacher, teach you how to do it in a warm, inviting space. Debbie focuses on one skill each week, Students write for 20 minutes and then have the opportunity to share their work if they wish.
